Kitspawning is a process through which Kits (see Kits (species)) can propagate. Since Kits are an asexual species, each Kitspawn is genetically identical to its parent Kit.
Kitspawns are thus the genetic inheritors of not only a parent Kit's genome, but their epigenome. This is because Kits have no distinction between their somatic cells and germ line cells, since they are a unizygous species. The epigenome is believed to be what carries mana affinity, allowing Kitspawans to attain, and even exceed their parent Kit's elemental affinity.
In Kit culture, about half the Kits practice a similar inheritance method. Kitspawns inherit their parent Kit's claims to properties, but not titles. Thus, Kits keep their politics meritocratic, but their materialism aristocratic.
